摘要:
林纾与陈衍同是近代福州的两位文化名人，他们的志行和学问，既有许多共同之处，也存在差异，既有珍贵的友谊，也存在许多争议。文章从他们的爱国热忱、弘扬传统、诗歌成就、“实业”救国等方面进行学术比较，以期对了解近代文学，寻思那个特定时期和环境中的文化理念乃至历史风云，提供点滴有益的启示。
Abstract:
Lin Shu and Chen Yan are two cultural celebrities in Fuzhou in early modern times. Although they held different opinions in some aspects, they had similar ambitions, deeds and knowledge. With great friendship towards each other, they were without controversies. This article attempts to make an academic comparison among their patriotism, their efforts to highlight the tradition, poetry achievements, and their claim to rejuvenate China by industralization to cast some enlightenments on understanding the modern Chinese literature and meditating the cultural philosophy and history at that particular period and in that particular environment.
