Abstract:
Carbon labels can identify the carbon emissions from the product life cycle. Products with lower carbon emissions can increase consumers¡¯ willingness to pay, thus prompting upstream and downstream companies in the supply chain to create a willingness to reduce emissions. Based on the perspective of supply chain, the game theory was used to study the emission reduction behavior of enterprises. Results show that the emission reduction contribution of upstream and downstream enterprises is proportional to the ability of the emission reduction technologies, that is, under the market regulation of carbon emission labelling policy, emission reduction resources will be transferred to enterprises with stronger emission reduction abilities. Leading enterprises will support the implementation of carbon labelling policies, while the following ones may resist it. Therefore, governments should give some priority to follower companies in their carbon policy formulation.
